Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, also called Ari Lennox, a Washington, D.C.-based American singer/songwriter, was signed by the label's the first artist of female gender with Dreamville Records by J. Cole. On the 21st of October, 2016, she released Pho, her debut EP for the Dreamville Records label. This was when she first gained notoriety. Shea Butter Baby released her first studio album on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox started posting her music to the internet in 2012 as she launched her debut mixtape Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography In 2013. The year 2014 saw her release new music through the internet including Bound. On July 21 2015 Omen featured her on his album Elephant Eyes in the song Sweat it Out. J. Cole was interested in her talents and was keen to collaborate together with Rihanna. On the 8th of December she signed with Dreamville Records. She made an appearance on the joint album Revenge of the Dreamers II featuring the track Backseat Cozz. In the month of October she dropped her debut EP, Pho. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change song and opened her own tour, the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. She also appeared in 2018 on two tracks with her labelmates EarthGang for Nothing but the Best. and Bas in Icarus. Ari Lennox dropped her first track Whipped Cream on Shea Butter Baby on July 16. A music video followed released, followed by a music video September. On November 9 she dropped two more singles, forty Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. Then, on November 13, she released two additional singles, titled One and Pdigree. One or Pdigree. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby then made appearances in the Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. She released this track as a single to celebrate her debut album titled Creed II on 26 February 2019. The track was launched with a music video uploaded to YouTube 20 February 2019 has been watched over 3 million times within the first seven days. As a supporting act, she toured together with 6LACK in December of 2018 for their From East Atlanta With Love Tour.
